Bob Rae, the former Liberal leader, said “there is no way [the Cleveland Indians’ name] can’t be seen as insulting.” He went on to say these types of symbols to describe teams “is a sign of colonialism, it’s a sign of racism, it’s a sign of denigrating people, of marginalizing people.”
