The Rio Summer Olympics have officially come to a close. From a sporting perspective, the games are being hailed as an extraordinary success. But in their 2009 Olympic bid, Rio’s leaders also promised the multi-billion dollar investment would improve the lives of ordinary Brazilians. Jeff Semple examines Rio’s Olympic legacy.
