The Louis Riel statue

A figurative bronze Louis Riel statue was put on the legislative grounds in 1968, and stood there for 23 years. Until the controversy was too much to handle. It now sits in the Mackenzie Art Gallery’s private vault, serving as a reminder that art can’t be dictated.
