At least 24 pilot whales died after beaching themselves on the coast of Baja California, Mexico, on Sunday. Mexican environment agency and navy staff working with local fishermen were able to refloat three of the whales and guide them to deeper water, according to a statement from Mexico’s PROFEPA agency.
