An expert looks at what makes Fort McMurray wildfire unique

Initial efforts to battle the raging fires in Fort McMurray didn’t work. That’s prompted difficult questions about what firefighters can do to slow the spread of the fire. While weather conditions are making the fight difficult, another factor making it touch is the type of trees in the area.Mike Flannigan, a professor of wildfires at the University of Alberta, spoke with Gord Steinke about it.
