Liberal MP Mauril Bélanger fulfilled a dream of being the House of Commons Speaker on Wednesday, after abandoning his candidacy for the speakership last fall over health after the mysterious loss of his voice and a diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
