‘The situation’s really crazy’: NDP MP talks Nipigon bridge splitting, city feeling disconnected from country

In a Skype interview on Monday, NDP MP Charlie Angus said the Nipigon bridge in northern Ontario splitting is a “crazy” situation. Angus also said he’s curious as to how Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will “explain to other G7 partner[s] that a country as big as Canada, if a bridge fails, [that] there’s suddenly no way to travel across this country except for detours to the U.S.” Angus also said the city of Nipigon feels disconnected from the country because of the inconvenience of travelling and transit.
