As Tumbler Ridge mourns this week’s mass shooting, survivor Anne McGrath says the tragedy has brought back “painful memories” of the 1975 St. Pius X school shooting in Ottawa. She said students returned to class the very next day with little support, calling today’s response ,including counsellors and school closures, “completely different.” Her message to students and families: “Take the time” to process what happened and show compassion to yourself and others.
