The Bank of Canada held its overnight benchmark interest rate at 2.25 per cent on Wednesday, marking the second straight hold to borrowing rates. Bank of Canada Gov. Tiff Macklem noted during a press conference that “uncertainty around our forecast is heightened. The range of possible outcomes is wider than usual. U.S. trade policy remains unpredictable and geopolitical risks are elevated.”
