Mass casualty incident declared after children fall ill from swim at Alberta pool
Description
January 26, 2026
Nearly a dozen children had to be hospitalized in Canmore, Alta., yesterday after they got very sick from playing in a hotel pool. Emergency responders arrived after receiving a hazmat requested to treat a potential chemical contamination. A number of children were staying at the Canmore Inn and Suites hotel, having spent the night to play in a hockey tournament.
