Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand spoke in Beijing Wednesday as Prime Minister Mark Carney visits China, the first trip by a Canadian prime minister since 2017. Asked about past differences, Anand stated that “this is a new government with a new prime minister, a new foreign policy in a new geopolitical environment,” and that the prime minister was there to "recalibrate" the relationship between the two countries.
