Fare-capping coming to the TTC in 2026
Description
December 8, 2025
Frequent transit users will begin to see new savings passed onto them in late 2026 when fare-capping begins. At first, the program will cap fares once a transit user taps 47 times, similar to a metro pass, but in 2027 the mayor says the cap will be lowered to a 40-trip threshold. Matthew Bingley reports.
