Speaking Monday in Parliament, Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre accused Prime Minister Mark Carney of being “the Grinch of the grocery store,” following the release of the 2026 Food Price Report – which predicts Canadians will spend up to $1,000 more on groceries next year. Poilievre added that motion on new pipelines would help combat the nation’s cost-of-living crisis, before demanding Carney “in the spirit of Christmas… approve a pipeline and get rid of the tanker ban.”
