Ombud finds failures in Veterans Affairs’ appeal process

When a Canadian veteran falls ill or is injured because of their service, they often find themselves applying for certain health-care benefits from Veterans Affairs Canada. But as Heidi Petracek explains, a new report from the veterans ombudsman says they aren’t always getting the help they deserve.
