B.C. Premier David Eby calls pipeline deal ‘distraction’ that risks being ‘energy vampire’
Description
November 27, 2025
British Columbia Premier David Eby said on Thursday that he's "anxious" that the proposed pipeline project from Alberta is a "distraction" that "has no project proponent," adding, "not only does it not have permits, it doesn't even have a root," or the "support of coastal First Nations." The NDP premier warned that the project could become an "energy vampire" and said "an oil tanker spill would decimate a way of life for people in the northwest of the Province."
