Halifax councillors begin process of crafting municipality’s budget

Halifax councillors have kicked off the lengthy process of crafting the municipality’s budget for the upcoming year. Municipal staff are recommending a hefty property tax increase to fund cost increases, putting councillors at odds with how to keep up with rising costs and avoid making matters worse for residents.
