Early winter brings road safety reminder for drivers

November 19, 2025
As winter weather arrived sooner than expected, provincial authorities are urging drivers to get ready for slippery roads. The CAA, Ministry of Transportation, Toronto Police, and OPP are teaming up to launch the winter driving season safety tip campaign. Sergeant Kerry Schmidt, from OPP’s Highway Safety Division, joins Candace Daniel to share advice on vehicle checks, common mistakes and practical steps drivers can take to stay safe during snow and ice events.
