Armed groups could take control of Venezuela if Maduro goes: former U.S. Ambassador to Canada

The United States has positioned the world’s largest, most advanced aircraft carrier off the coast of Venezuela in its Operation Southern Spear. Fully loaded with troops and military hardware, the picture is that of intimidation. But what’s still unclear is what would happen if President Donald Trump decides to oust the Venezuelan leader. Would a power vacuum give a foothold to the country’s illegal, armed groups.
