Truro is paying tribute to a pivotal part of Canada’s military history by unveiling a monument and renaming one of its athletic facilities after the No. 2 Construction Battalion – the country’s first and only Black battalion from the First World War. Organizers say the renaming serves to acknowledge the units’ contributions and preserve their place in Canada’s history.
