Health Matters: Diet and sugary drinks raise risk of liver disease, study shows
Description
October 7, 2025
New research is raising concerns about both sugary and diet soft drinks, linking even a single can a day to elevated risks of liver disease. The study presented at the United European Gastro-enterology Week found that drinking just one diet soda daily was associated with a 60 per cent increased risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Katherine Ward has this story and more in Health Matters for Tuesday Oct. 7, 2025.
