‘Don’t take Tylenol’: Trump, US health officials tie use to autism

U.S. President Donald Trump, flanked by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr and other health officials, recommended on Monday that pregnant women and young children limit the use of Tylenol. “Don’t take Tylenol, there’s no downside,” the president said pointing to studies that acetaminophen usage was tied to the rise of autism. Trump cited the lack of use in Amish communities and in Cuba where Tylenol is mostly not used due to cultural beliefs with the Amish and its costly price in Cuba. “Just a few decades ago, one in ten thousand children had autism… And now it’s one in 31 and in some areas it’s much worse than that,” Trump said.
