The spotlight is set for opening night at the 39th Edmonton International Film Festival with the premiere of ‘Singhs in the Ring.’ It’s a powerful documentary that’s already making waves. Nominated for nine Alberta Film Awards — including Best Documentary and Best Director — this film tells the incredible story of Gama Singh, the legendary Indo-Canadian wrestler who made his name in Calgary’s iconic Stampede Wrestling. It follows his son Raj as he continues the family legacy. Producer Shane Fennessey and director Akash Sherman joined Global News Morning Edmonton to talk about the film.
