Officials say the hazardous material at the centre of a Calgary detonation operation Wednesday was picric acid, which becomes explosive when dried and improperly stored. Police and the bomb squad carried out controlled detonations, causing traffic delays and Calgary Transit detours near the site. Elissa Carpenter reports.
