During a press conference on Monday, Nova Scotia premier Tim Houston confirmed that over 230 homes had been evacuated since the Long Lake fire in Annapolis County scorched close to 8,000 hectares of land. Houston added that as a token of support, the province was offering adults and minor evacuees $500 and $200, respectively.
