Air Canada is set to ground some flights because the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), which represents the company’s more than 10,000 flight attendants, has served the airline with a strike notice that would take effect at 1:00 AM EDT Saturday. But the carrier could also lock out these workers if a deal isn’t reached before then. Neetu Garcha looks at how a potential work stoppage could upend the plans of tens of thousands of travellers.
