As U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff deadline ended Aug. 1, and 35 per cent tariffs on Canadian goods were implemented, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney took to social media, writing that while he is “disappointed” move, Canada still faces among the lowest average tariff rates of U.S. trading partners because of CUSMA.
