The hamlet of Ennismore celebrated the 200th anniversary of Peter Robinson's emigration to the area with "Heritage Day" on Saturday. Close to one thousand people took part in a number of activities throughout the day including live music, a cross-cut saw competition, a lumber jack show, a quilt show, historical displays and children's activities at the Cavanagh cabin. It is one of many bicentennial celebrations in the region this year to highlight Robinson's efforts to bring nearly 2,000 Irish to Canada. They would go on to settle what would become Peterborough and other communities including Ennismore.
