In a first for Halifax and Nova Scotia, the Bonfire Restaurant will not accept tips from patrons. It’s a model the owners feel is more equitable, by paying their staff $20 an hour, as well as profit sharing. For those in the industry, they’re excited to see whether this model takes hold elsewhere. Angela Capobianco reports.
