Arguing it will raise food prices, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says a Conservative government would scrap new federal packaging plans and end a ban on single-use plastics. Speaking Friday, Poilievre promised to repeal bans on plastic straws, bags, and containers, calling the policies “costly, out of touch, and harmful to low-income Canadians.” Poilievre also outlined Conservative tax promises, including ending the carbon tax, lowering income taxes by 15 percent and removing GST on new homes and Canadian-made vehicles.
