N.B. mine reports record sales of road salt after long, harsh winter

The harsh winter has paid off for one key player: New Brunswick’s lone salt mine, which is one of only two in the Maritimes. The weather led to record sales of road salt in February, with Picadilly mine’s total sales for the first quarter surpassing 255,000 tonnes. Reeti Rohilla walks us through the process of mining salt.
