Passengers aboard American Airlines Flight 1006 were evacuated at Denver International Airport on Thursday after the aircraft’s engine caught fire while taxiing to the gate. The Boeing 737-800 had been diverted from its route to Dallas after the crew reported “engine vibrations,” landing safely at 5:15 p.m., according to the FAA. All passengers were evacuated, though 12 were hospitalized with minor injuries, Denver International Airport said. Footage captured by Joshua Sunberg shows flames beneath a wing as passengers exited the plane. The FAA is investigating the incident.
