Sinkhole in UK village grows: ‘There’s caves underneath here’

Not only are residents of Godstone, England, in shock after a sinkhole began to form on one of the village’s main roads, but some have even been evacuated as the gaping hole begins to expand. “An SES guy just told me that there’s caves underneath here,” said local Sophie Amos who has lived next to the spot where the sinkhole formed for more than six years. “I actually don’t know how stable it is,” she added, referring to her home.
