Ford pushes for stronger border security and economic protection
Description
February 8, 2025
At a press conference on Saturday in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford called for stronger border security and economic protection. “One ounce of fentanyl, one ounce, or one illegal handgun or one illegal border crossing is one too many,” he stated, urging stricter penalties for criminals and federal support for Ontario’s Operation Deterrence. Ford also emphasized the need to address interprovincial trade barriers, warning, “If our economy is not protected, everything else goes down the tubes.”
