Mark Carney aims to beat Trudeau’s NATO spending target by two years
Description
February 5, 2025
In a campaign event in Windsor on Wednesday, Liberal leadership contender Mark Carney promised that he would be able to reach NATO’s two per cent defence spending target by 2030, two years before Justin Trudeau’s plan.
He also said that he would work to remove inter-provincial trade barriers so Canada could be united while emphasizing the need for diversifying trade partners beyond the U.S.
