The settlement of a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination in the Canadian military has become a pill too bitter to swallow for one of the class action’s representative plaintiffs. Disillusioned, the African-Nova Scotia veteran is dropping out of the suit altogether. Heidi Petracek explains why and whether class actions can provide closure and cause change.
