U.S. President Donald Trump commented on potential tariffs on Canadian goods coming into the United States while on a trip to North Carolina on Friday. Trump claimed that the U.S. loses $200 billion a year with Canada. The U.S. president then claimed that in a conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the PM admitted to Trump that Canada would be a “failed nation” without U.S. subsidies. Trump said he replied to Trudeau that Canada “should be a state.” The President did not provide any proof for his claim.
