Trump tariffs: Poilievre says Liberals ‘got us in this mess’ by blocking energy projects
Description
January 16, 2025
Speaking to reporters in Vancouver on Wednesday, Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre pointed the blame at the Liberals, saying they “got us in this mess” of U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s recent tariff threats against Canada. “Not only have the Liberals weakened our economy, now they’re resorting to dividing our people,” Poilievre said in reaction to Alberta Premier Danielle Smith refusing to sign the joint retaliation plan against Trump by Canada's premiers on Wednesday.
