Alberta Premier Danielle Smith critiqued Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly on Monday after she suggested an energy embargo against the U.S. in retaliation to tariffs that are being threatened by president-elect Donald Trump. “You should never threaten something you cannot do,” Smith said, suggesting Joly “look at a map” of pipelines, which would not only impact certain U.S. states if shut down, but Canadian provinces too, triggering a “national unity crisis.”
