It’s the worst aviation disaster to happen on South Korean soil — 179 people are dead after a passenger plane flying from Thailand skidded off the runway during landing and crashed into a wall, leading to a horrific explosion. Only two people survived, both of them were crew members. Questions are now swirling as to what exactly happened. The plane did not deploy its landing wheels and there is talk of a possible bird strike causing some sort of malfunction. Redmond Shannon reports. It was a dramatic scene Saturday night at Stanfield Airport in Nova Scotia as an Air Canada flight from St. John’s to Halifax caught fire during a failed landing. There were no injuries reported but the incident has left the airport with only one runway while the situation is investigated. There were 77 people on board the plane, including four crew members. Angela Capobianco has more.
