Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland expressed positivity regarding recent threats to impose tariffs on Canadian goods by U.S. president-elect Donald Trump. Though she didn’t express doubt in Trump’s threats, she said she’s “convinced economic realities” will “ultimately prevail” in the countries’ trade relationship – which she claimed the U.S. benefits massively from.
