When asked about criticism from economists regarding the federal government’s temporary GST relief, Minister of Public Services Jean-Yves Duclos said in Ottawa on Monday that it was important to distinguish between “structural” and “temporary” measures. He added that the temporary tax relief is meant to be a limited measure to support citizens during a time of the year that can put pressure on personal finances.
