More than 10,000 British farmers gathered in London on Tuesday to protest changes to an inheritance tax exemption announced by the federal government in October. In what Conservative MPs have dubbed the “tractor tax,” the proposed legislation would disallow farmers with land worth more than £1 million from passing down their farms to their children tax-free. Beginning in 2026, children who inherit land of that value would be slammed with a 20 per cent tax.
