Peel police chief says his officers seize an illegal firearm once every 30 hours

Speaking to the media on Monday morning to unveil the results of an illegal firearms and drugs investigation called Project: Sledgehammer, Nishan Duraiappah, Peel Regional Police Chief, said that on average his officers seize an illegal firearm once every 30 hours. Chief Duraiappah said that in his estimation, at least “ninety per cent” of those firearms seized are smuggled from the United States.
