During a CBS Vice Presidential Debate Tuesday night, Democrat nominee Tim Walz was asked about his claim that he was in Hong Kong during the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests. After Walz explained that he had misspoke, the moderator once again asked “Governor, just to follow up on that — the question was can you explain the discrepancy.” Walz reiterated that he had misspoke when he made the original claim and said voters in Minnesota had forgiven him with multiple re-elections to the governors house since then.
