They’re saying the Quebec government has not done enough to stop illegal dumping of construction waste in their territory. To put pressure, they’re training volunteers on how to stop and inspect dump trucks. A group representing nearly 100 of Canada’s universities is warning of declining enrolment and revenue as Ottawa’s crackdown on foreign students takes hold. About 400 people attended the New Brunswick Liberals campaign launch Sunday, as the party looks to harness discontent with Premier Blaine Higgs. Experts say the Bank of Canada’s recent series of interest rate cuts is set to stir up some activity in a relatively sleepy housing market. The Bank of Canada lowered its key interest rate by 25 basis points on Wednesday and opened the door to bigger cuts if the economy slows more sharply in the months ahead.
