A group representing nearly 100 of Canada’s universities is warning of declining enrolment and revenue as Ottawa’s crackdown on foreign students takes hold. Institutions now fear the impacts are much worse than they had initially expected. Experts say the Bank of Canada’s recent series of interest rate cuts is set to stir up some activity in a relatively sleepy housing market. The Bank of Canada lowered its key interest rate by 25 basis points on Wednesday and opened the door to bigger cuts if the economy slows more sharply in the months ahead.
