Manitoba Métis Federation president David Chartrand spoke about the importance of a vibrant downtown core in Winnipeg on Thursday, after announcing that his organization has acquired more real estate in the city. “if you don’t have a downtown, how can you call yourself a city,” he said, adding: “downtown still means something to me.”
