Metro Vancouver seismic hazard mapping

We’ve heard for decades that B.C. is long overdue for a powerful earthquake and new research suggests that when it does hit, it could be even more destructive than expected. Now scientists are working on creating an earthquake shaking hazard map for Metro Vancouver that would identify areas most at risk of significant damage. Western University Associate Professor and mapping project lead Sheri Molnar explains how it works.
