Despite some recent success with caribou penning, a practice that involves protecting calves from predators, many herds of mountain caribou in our province still face extirpation. One of those herds is the Columbia North herd, whose habitat is once again under threat from newly proposed clear-cut logging in the North Shuswap. Now, a conservation group dedicated to protecting biodiversity is encouraging people to join in their letter-writing campaign to Premier David Eby to help stop the logging from going ahead.
