At least 12 people have been killed and another five have been reported missing following floods trigged by heavy monsoon rains across Sri Lanka on Sunday. Twenty of the island nation’s 25 districts were hit by flash floods, with some even seeing mudslides. As a result, many regions have been placed on major flood alerts.
